Plaid
Bank account linking and income verification — global coverage (India support limited). Plaid is the global leader in bank-account linking + income-verification APIs (primarily US/EU/UK coverage; India coverage is limited following Plaid's 2024 India market restructure). Connect to Wendesk for international-customer KYC workflows in financial-services, insurance and legal-CA verticals — for India-domestic bank verification use Aadhaar eKYC + DigiLocker instead.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about Plaid on Wendesk.
What does the Plaid integration do in Wendesk?
It embeds Plaid Link in Wendesk CRM workflows to let loan applicants or customers securely connect their bank accounts. Wendesk then fetches identity, balance, and transaction data for KYC and underwriting workflows.
Which industries use the Plaid integration in Wendesk?
Primarily financial services (NBFC loan origination), used-car finance, and insurance underwriting. Any industry where bank account verification is part of the customer onboarding or deal-closing process benefits from this integration.
Does Plaid work in India?
Plaid's current geographic coverage is primarily the US, Canada, UK, and Europe. Indian bank accounts are not yet supported by Plaid natively. For Indian bank verification, Wendesk recommends the Aadhaar or DigiLocker integrations instead.
How does Wendesk use Plaid's API?
Wendesk calls Plaid's Link token creation endpoint to initiate the bank connection flow, then uses the Auth, Identity, and Transactions endpoints to retrieve account data. All data is stored per-tenant with full DPDP consent records.
Is customer consent required to access bank data via Plaid?
Yes. Plaid Link presents an explicit consent screen to the customer before any bank data is accessed. Wendesk records the consent event in the ConsentRecord table in line with DPDP requirements.
